Arctic & Global Brochure 2022 | 23

We are excited to announce the release of our Arctic & Global 2022 | 2023 Season Brochure, which includes 5 all-new itineraries and many returning favourites.

In the new season, you will be able to catch the spectacular natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights. Or perhaps you would like to experience the jaw-dropping beauty of the Norwegian coastline and sail north across the imaginary line that marks the Arctic Circle.

Plus, we will be journeying to an entirely new region – the Islands of the Atlantic, to explore the dramatic features of Cape Verde, the Canary Islands and the Azores.

We have pioneered exploration for more than 30 years, and discovery is in our DNA. We are 100% climate neutral, which is outlined in our detailed Sustainability in Action plan.

Our two ships, the Greg Mortimer and the Sylvia Earle are worthy of fulfilling your most adventurous dreams.

Both ships are new and utilise the latest technology and revolutionary Ulstein X-BOW® hull – capable of reaching the furthest reaches of our planet smoothly and efficiently. And our newest ship the Sylvia Earle will be making its sailing debut in 2022.

Plus, with the most comprehensive activity program, you will enjoy amazing off ship experiences and unexpected wildlife encounters. Our experienced, professional and passionate expedition team will be on hand every step of the way and will push the boundaries to ensure you make the most of your time in the wildest and most beautiful places on earth. And you will be able to get involved with our newly expanded Citizen Science Program, which will launch across all our voyages in 2022.

Get ready to explore the world like never before and dive into our brand-new brochure.

Let's take a look at our 3 new itineraries

Northern Lights Explorer

Norwegian Coast, Jan Mayen, East Greenland, Iceland | 22 Days

Staying close to the Arctic Circle, we skirt the Norwegian Sea and Greenland Sea, exploring remote islands and villages of the region. As night falls, we look skywards hoping to catch the magic of the Northern Lights. This spectacular natural phenomenon offers a dazzling light show of blue, green, pink and violet dancing across the night sky. Places located near the Arctic Circle such as in northern Norway, Iceland and Greenland offer superb opportunities to witness this natural phenomenon.

Highlights

  • Sail in the prime region to encounter the dazzling aurora borealis
  • Discover the world’s largest fjord system in the world at Scoresbysund, a superb place to photograph icebergs

Northeast Passage

Russian Far East & European Russian Arctic | 28 Days

Cross nine time zones on this journey across the world’s largest country, Russia. Experience Siberia’s vast and remote north coast and land in places few have been lucky to see. Be dazzled by the tundra’s sublime autumn colours, witness migratory birds in unimaginable numbers, enormous walrus haulouts, and perhaps see polar bears fattening their cubs before winter’s hibernation. Sailing the mythical waters of Chukchi, East Siberian, Laptev, Kara and Barents Sea, this is truly an epic geographic odyssey.

Highlights

  • Marvel at the world’s highest concentration of polar bear dens on Wrangel Island, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Natural System of Wrangel Island Reserve
  • Be mesmerised by Franz Josef Land’s frozen icescapes

Sea of Okhotsk & Northern Kurils

Sea of Okhotsk, Northern Kurils | 17 Days

Home to a rich array of wildlife and fascinating human history, this remote and seldomly visited region will reward adventurous expeditioners like yourself. Wildlife such as the rare ribbon seal, Steller sea lions, sea eagles and bears thrive in this region. This region is a mecca for birdwatchers, and no matter whether you are a birding enthusiast or not, the extraordinary number of seabirds encountered in the Sea of Okhotsk region can only be described as mind-blowing.
